  Today we are announcing that Mayday has been acquired. While we can’t share specifics at this time, we want to thank you all for joining us on this journey.
  
  This means that we’ll be sunsetting all Mayday products and services, on May 5, 2024

  Apple is legally required to report certain acquisitions to the European Commission, under the terms of the EU’s Digital Markets Act.
  
  Apple acquired [Mayday]’s intellectual property, and the rights to make employment offers to certain employees, according to the European Commission.

  Humane News, 18 February 2025:

  HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) announced a definitive agreement to acquire key AI capabilities from Humane, including their AI-powered platform Cosmos, highly skilled technical talent, and intellectual property with more than 300 patents and patent applications. The acquisition advances HP’s transformation into a more experience-led company.

  Humane Support:

  First and foremost, thank you for being an early adopter of Ai Pin. Your support, feedback, and enthusiasm have been instrumental in shaping this technology, and we are truly grateful to have had you on this journey with us.
  
  We are writing to inform you that, effective immediately, we are winding down the consumer Ai Pin as our business priorities have shifted.
  
  What This Means for You:
  
  • End of Consumer Availability: Effective immediately, new purchases of the consumer Ai Pin will be discontinued.
  • Device Timeline: Your Ai Pin will continue to function normally until 12pm PST on February 28, 2025. After this date, it will no longer connect to Humane’s servers, and .Center access will be fully retired.
  • Device Features: Your Ai Pin features will no longer include calling, messaging, Ai queries/responses, or cloud access.
  • Data Access: We strongly encourage you to sync your Ai Pin over Wi-Fi and download any stored pictures, videos, and notes from .Center before February 28, 2025. If you do not do this, your data will be lost upon deletion on February 28, 2025 at 12pm PST.
  • Data Deletion: On February 28, 2025 at 12pm PST all remaining consumer data will be permanently deleted.

  Big news! Today we are announcing that Shopify is acquiring the Threads team.
  
  There are a million feelings and thoughts from this journey, but nothing more than gratitude to all of our users and customers for building with us, our investors for their unwavering support and guidance, and all of our friends and family who put up with the late nights, canceled plans, and the general roller coaster that is startup life.

  The original Threads service (a Slack-like site/app) was shut down.

  I am thrilled to announce that the Fig team will be joining Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon has acquired Fig’s technology!

  Existing users will continue to be able to use Fig and will receive ongoing support. What’s more, we are now making all the paid Fig Team features completely free. New users will not be able to sign up for Fig’s products right now while we focus on optimizing them for existing customers and addressing some needs identified to integrate Fig with AWS.

  We are proud to announce that Flipgrid is now a part of Microsoft, sharing a mission to empower every student to achieve more. And just like Office 365, Flipgrid is now free for all educators and students.
  😮 Crazy, I know. I’m sure you have questions. Let me address a few:
  Flipgrid isn’t going anywhere. 

  June 2024:

  Starting July 1, Flip will no longer be available in mobile app stores, and our web site on Flip.com will go into view-only mode. While you will no longer be able to create new groups, topics or videos after this date, you will still have access to download your Flip videos through September 30.

  There are exciting new possibilities on the horizon for educators and students, and we look forward to what the future holds!

  October 2024:

  While Flip apps have now been retired, educators and students can still use the Flip camera inside Microsoft Teams for Education. Please note that any existing videos can no longer be retrieved

This acquisition will help the Headroom team to expand their mission beyond video collaboration to tackle all Future of Work with the largest talent marketplace. They will continue to innovate in multimodal generative AI, affective computing, and real-time communication across all aspects of virtual collaboration to help companies and individuals be more effective and productive at what they do.
