BBBS - Kent County Council 2025

Be Bright Be Seen is back for 2025 with Kent County Council’s Safer Road User Team!

This winter, kmfm and Kent County Council are once again joining forces to bring you the annual Be Bright Be Seen campaign – a vital initiative helping children stay safe on their journeys to and from school.

With darker mornings and evenings now part of the daily routine, it’s essential that children are visible – and that drivers and cyclists stay extra alert on Kent’s busy roads. The school run is one of the busiest times of day, and with fewer daylight hours, visibility is more important than ever.

The KCC Safer Road User Team is committed to making sure children don’t just blend in, but really stand out. Reflective items aren’t just useful – they’re fun, easy to wear, and play a big part in keeping young people safe.

Why Visibility Matters

When daylight is limited, especially during the winter months, children in dark school uniforms and coats can be harder for drivers to see. Reflective items shine in car headlights, making children much more visible from a distance – giving drivers valuable extra time to react.

What’s Available in 2025

This year, we’re distributing 25,000 free ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ reflective disks across Kent. Simple to clip onto bags, coats, or bikes, these bright disks help children stand out in low-light conditions, adding an extra layer of safety to every journey.

Join the Be Bright Be Seen campaign for free – and help light up Kent’s roads, one reflective item at a time.

Before registering your school, class, club, or group, please make sure you’ve read our Terms of Registration.
