Since 2020, we have successfully had over 10 papers accepted to the International Astronautical Congresses, one of which received the Best Interactive Presentation award.
Airbus Competition
Since 2022, GU Orbit has sent a team to compete in Airbus' Space Competition. In our first competition in 2022, we presented 2 missions: an organ manufacturing station and a satellite refurbishment robot. In 2023, we got 2nd place with a solar sail design capable of orbital lunar servicing for over 6 years to help the lunar economy.
CubeSat AIV Training Breadboard
Designed in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, this breadboard help address the lack of AIV skills in the space industry by serving as a training platform. Using an MBSE methodology, a sustainable and cost-effective design meeting stakeholder needs was ensured. Unfortunately, after our collaboration concluded, the masters team of the UoB decided to not make the final design.
