Bio

One of the fastest players on tour, Ukraine’s Iulian Boiko hit the headlines in January 2020 by reaching the final of the World Snooker Federation Open in Malta when only 14-years-old.

Despite losing 5-3 to England’s Ashley Hugill, the 14-year-old prodigy had done enough with wins against the likes of former professionals Zhang Yong, Sean O’Sullivan and Ross Muir to earn his place on the World Snooker Tour for the first time.

Boiko won his first match as a professional at the 2021 Gibraltar Open, defeating Irish veteran Fergal O’Brien 4-3, before falling to Mark Allen by the same scoreline in the second round. During his second season he won four matches, including his opener at the 2022 World Championship qualifiers against Michael Georgiou.

In 2025, Boiko became on the second player in history to compile a maximum break on the WPBSA Q Tour during an event in Mons, Belgium. Later that year, the Ukrainian cueist earned a second spell among the professional ranks by defeating England’s Oliver Sykes 5-4 in the final of the EBSA European Under-21 Championship in Türkiye.
