Bio

Lincoln’s Steven Hallworth secured a third spell on the World Snooker Tour (WST) in 2025 by defeating Luo Honghao, Ryan Davies and Mark Joyce in the WPBSA Q Tour Global Play-Offs in Antalya, Turkiye.

Hallworth’s two best performances in professional tournaments actually came while competing as an amateur player – reaching quarter-finalist at the 2017 Shoot Out and then going one better in 2023 to reach the semi-final stage of the same event. He had previously turned professional for the first time in 2014 by successfully qualifying from the EBSA Play-Offs and again in 2020 after defeating Alfie Burden in the final round of Q School.

In 2024, Hallworth won the prestigious English Amateur Championship by defeating Callum Downing in the finalat the Landywood Snooker Club.

He first took up cue sports at the age of five having picked up a pool cue while on holiday and first came to mainstream attention in 2010 when he qualified for the final eight of the ‘Rileys Star of the Future’ event backed by Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Away from the table, Hallworth has become a popular commentator and analyst on snooker coverage in the UK.
