Wang Yuchen successfully earned a tour card at the 2024 Q School to secure a return to the World Snooker Tour after a six-year absence.
The Hong Kong China cueist defeated former professionals Andy Hicks and Jenson Kendrick before overcoming Dylan Emery in a deciding frame in the final round of event one.
Wang was previously on the tour from 2016 to 2018 but his best run at a ranking event came as a wildcard at the 2013 Shanghai Masters, where he defeated Joe Perry to reach the last 32 before losing out to Neil Robertson. He repeated this run at the 2024 Northern Ireland Open, notably defeating Jack Lisowski to reach the same stage.
He also secured a notable 6-5 victory over former world champion Peter Ebdon in the opening round of the 2016 UK Championship.
