The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red over white horizontal bicolour.
Meaning:
According to Veddeler 2003, p.143 the flag is mentioned in �2(1) of Hauptsatzung der Stadt Herdecke 30 March 1999. The colours are taken from the shield of the coat of arms. The flag never has been approved officially.
