Regimental Colours

Current colours of the Royal Danish Army usually are not parted by an off-centred cross but an off-centred cross patty instead. The image at top just displays the basic appearance is not related to any specific flag. The army is divided into two brigades, which might have no proper flags, but most of the 10 regiments of the army, or parts of them, are subordinated to one of the brigades. Any Danish regimental colour (regimentsfane) is red parted by an off-centred white cross patty and is made from double-layered red and white silk, with edgings and braids in the same colours. Cords and tassels are made from gold thread. The regimental badge and name as well as the crowned royal cypher of the reigning monarch, until 2024 Queen Margrethe 2, is applied in gold leaf.
