Description of the flag

Jan Kranti Party was founded in Lucknow on 2010-01-05 by Kalyan Singh, former member of Bharatiya Janata Party and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in three terms, and his son Rajvir Singh, who became its first president [1, 2]. The party flag is orange-green-orange horizontal triband and was adopted along with the founding of the party [3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. Colors of the flag are the same as those of Bharatiya Janata Party; the choice was certainly intentional, because the new party has announced that its ideology will be based on aggressive Hindutva and nationalism, which, according to Kalyan Singh, his former party has abandoned [5]. Orange/saffron itself is often considered the symbol of Hindutuva, and in combination with green it does make a link with Kalyan Singh's former career, which includes a rather controversial role in case of demolition of Babri Mosque in Ayodhya in 1992 [2], the event which caused riots with numerous victims throughout India.
