Here is a description of the flag sent via an email from Mayor Knight.
The Shire horse represents the villages agricultural strength and ability to pull its weight.
The 16 stars represent the towns of Schoharie County, of which 7 green stars are for those that are agriculturally strong and the largest star represents the town of Middleburgh, in which the village of Middleburgh lies.
The mountain is Vromans Nose, a geographic landmark, and the river is Schoharie Creek, another well-known natural marking. The 3 bars are in different colors: white is a color of the Middleburgh Central School District and represents the peaceful community; blue represents resilience and the year 1712, when Middleburgh was settled by Palatine Germans; and green, another school district color, represents agricultural knowledge and skills.
