The Movimiento de Participacin Popular - MPP (Popular Participation Movement) - List No.609 was the most voted list inside the Frente Amplio in the Uruguayan presidential elections of October 2004, that were won by the Frente Amplio, whose candidate, the socialist doctor Tabar Vzquez became the first non-traditional parties member elected as president in Uruguay.
The MPP is a leftist movement that has former Tupamaros as members. This group also has other people of other leftist tendencies (different from Tupamaros) inside it.
The principal leader of this group is Senator Jos "Pepe" Mujica. Another important leader of this political group is Senator Eleuterio Fernndez Huidobro. Both of them have been members of the MLN-Tupamaros since the 1960s & 1970s.

During the celebrations after Tabar Vazquez's victory some MPP flags could be seen between tricolor Frente Amplio's flags.
MPP flags are red flags with the acronym of the group in black italic capital letters. There are different sizes of the black letters on different flags and there are other variants. A variant to mention is one red flag with the acronym of the group and a portrait of Jos Mujica in black also.
