I'm currently looking for work - here's my CV. If there’s a role you think I’d be a good fit for, I'd be happy to hear from you!

E-mail: adam@thisdomain, or contact me on LinkedIn.

Hi :) This tiny bit of the internet you've just found is run by Adam James. I enjoy experimenting, exploring signals and data. I’m a software engineer with interests in electronics, photography, radio, retro consoles, security and reverse-engineering. In my spare time, I usually game, grow plants in awkward places, and build stuff.

I map the aircraft near me using software-defined radio and a Raspberry Pi, feeding the data to aggregators like FlightAware. The UK government recently started publishing live bus data, so I put that on a map, too. Check out live aircraft (24h timelapse) or the bus map!

While this is probably the only time you'll see me write the word "buses" with an exclamation mark following it. I think it's pretty amazing that anyone, with a little bit of work, can see every bus, train and aircraft in the country in real time.

Did you know you can do the same thing for ships? If only I lived nearer the coast...

Since I typically work on .NET in "the cloud", for a change these little projects are entirely self-hosted (thanks to Tailscale) and written in a mix of Python and Javascript. Source code is available on Github.

This site is hosted by NearlyFreeSpeech and uses Datenstrom Yellow. Both are great <3, so I play Noita instead of worrying what people think. Be 1x, like Grug.
