Why aren't WNBA players dunking?

More Than The Score

Available for over a year

Seeing basketball players jump high into the air and dunk the ball into the basket is always an impressive sight but in the 2025 WNBA regular season there haven’t been any dunks. So why aren’t WNBA players dunking? Seattle Storm player Dominique Malonga talks about the realisation of finding out she could dunk and the reaction to her dunking videos which went viral online. Maz Farookhi is also joined by BBC Sport Africa's Isaac Fanin and Sam Liu, who is a PHD biomedical engineer from the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. They discuss the art of mastering a dunk and whether we’ll see women’s players regularly dunking in the WNBA in the future.
