The goal of this Collection in Critical Care journal is to bring together thought leaders in metabolism, ICU nutrition, and rehabilitation to help define and promote a more individualised, phase-specific nutritional approach for critically ill patients.

About the Collection

The goal of this collection is to bring together thought leaders in metabolism, ICU nutrition, and rehabilitation to help define and promote a more individualised, phase-specific nutritional approach for critically ill patients. The collection aims to address the following themes:

• Personalised energy and protein requirements across illness phases
• Micronutrient therapy guided by biomarkers
• Use of indirect calorimetry, body composition and AI tools for clinical decision-making
• Nutrition strategies supporting recovery and long-term outcomes
• Implementation science, task redistribution, and patient/family involvement

This Collection welcomes submission of research and review papers. Should you wish to submit a different article type, please read our submission guidelines to confirm that type is accepted by the journal.
