A lot goes into choosing the right name, especially for a new pet. And some are *so* good, they're simply impossible to forget. Reddit user diceblue recently asked, "What's your pet's name and what do you actually call them?" Here's what these animal lovers had to say:
1. "I had a cat named Trouble. The name fit well enough, but her nickname was Turdbutt. She responded to that better than her real name. One night, she got out, and I walked up and down my street calling out Turdbutt. She's home safe and sound."
2. "We've got five dogs all named Ralph: Ralph one, two, three, four, and five."
3. "Her name is Waffles, and all we call her is Kitty, Kitty Cat, or Kiki. Never called that cat Waffles a day in her life."
4. "I call him Odie, but his government name is Odometer Jones (sometimes also called Odie Jo)."
5. "His name is Steven, but friends call him Dave. Dave's a Siamese."
6. "His name is Mister Baby Man Puddin' Head Face. What do we actually call him? Brad."
7. "I have a dog named Radar. He goes by Meat Head."
8. "His name is Marshall. It evolved from that to Marshy to Marshmallow. So, now I have an all-black Corso called Marshmallow."
9. "A German Shepard named Bronx. For some reason, we call him Peter, Pete, Pop, Bubba, Stinky Ass, and Mr. Snooter."
10. "I have a cat my kids named Tofu. I call him the Toaf Loaf."
11. "Maya and I call her Papaya."
12. "I started calling my pit Bups, a mix of baby and pups. It's nowhere near her real name."
13. "His name is Edward, but I now refer to him exclusively as Mister because he's very opinionated and tries to boss me around."
14. "Loki. We call him Loki Artichokie."
15. "Jiggs. Jiggy-Wiggy-Iggy-Piggy on her driver's license."
16. "Piper. I call her Pipper Skips."
17. "American Staffordshire. His name is Boscoe, and we call him Bosshole."
18. "My dog's name is Bella. Basic, I know, but she came with it. We call her Belly, Jelly Belly, or Jelly Bean."
19. "Riley / Pooper Dooper Chicken Wooper Dooper Snooper (said all at once)."
20. "Real name: Peter, after Peter Lupus. What I call him: Little Man."
21. "Winnie, sometimes we call her Winners."
22. "My cat's a big softy, so he's named Stanley, Stanley Cup, and Isuzu D-Max."
23. "I have an indoor lop bunny named Nesto, but I call him Nest Nest. I tell him his job is to guard the apartment when I go to work. He sits right at my front door."
24. "I had a mule named Dick. His government name was short for Richard."
25. And finally, "One of our dogs is Coco. He also goes by Coco Butt and Captain Dumb Ass. He's big, doesn't comprehend his size, and is not very bright, but we love the big oaf."
