Navarro — after host Whoopi Goldberg asked if Bondi leaning into Poehler mocking her is the “right” move — argued that the SNL cold open on the AG could be seen as a “rite of passage” for her with the MAGA base.
“I’ve known Pam Bondi for a long time, I haven’t spoken to her obviously in a few years, but this is a completely different Pam Bondi than the person I knew in Florida, who was an affable, nice, Southern —,” said the View host and ex-GOP political strategist, referring to Bondi’s time as Florida attorney general.
Navarro went on to add that she thinks Bondi is “loving” theSNLcold open that sees Poehler hurling insults and dodging questions from lawmakers. In a surprise cameo, Poehler is later joined by fellow SNL alum Tina Fey, who plays a gun-toting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Bondi shared a screenshot of Poehler alongside Fey on social media Sunday, writing, “.@Sec_Noem, should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Poehler!”
Navarro shared her blunt take on Bondi to her fellow hosts on The View.
“Frankly, I think what she’s doing to the institution of the DOJ and the oversight in Congress is shameful and embarrassing and is going to go down in history as one of the worst performances by an attorney general in front of Congress,” she said.
Moments later, host Sara Haines said the only way someone can reply to comedy is to lean into it because “otherwise you just look dumb.”
Navarro chimed in, “Ah, these people may not need much help to look dumb.”
