00:02I like to build my characters from the day they're born to the first page of the script.

00:07And when you're playing a real person, you have to draw from all of their experiences.

00:12And you're not really making up or dreaming anything.

00:16You have to make sure you're telling their truth and you're a vessel for them,

00:19where characters that you get to create from nothing,

00:24you kind of get to dream up everything about them.

00:28You worked with Christy quite closely for the film. Did that help being able to have her on?

00:33Oh, immensely. It changed the entire process. She was incredible.
