WWE 2K22 is a HUGE improvement over WWE 2K20, that's obvious. Everything about this particular game is perfect. From it's stunning realistic graphics to the visuals or camera angles when playing a match to it's brief cinematic scenes when perfectly executing certain combos, moves, signatures and finishes. When playing a match with these features it almost feels like your not just playing it, your living it as if your are one of the wrestlers or a fan watching in attendance
MyRise/Career Mode is honestly one of the best modes I've played in a WWE game and for me personally it hasn't been this good since playing the season modes on Smackdown vs. Raw PS2 series back in the day. The multiple choices determine your fate is a neat feature along with many interesting main and sub story features
In the MyRise feature you get to play a solo male version and a solo female version. I've played both and honestly, I believe the female version is far superior in terms of the stories. Your rivals in the female version aren't just one off's like in the male versions, they are recurring rivals in multiple stories making it feel not only personal every time you face them again in certain situations but also highly realistic. They even brought back the classic United States and old Intercontinental championships for the female version of My Rise making those titles strictly for the women
When it comes to GM mode ( General Manager) or as 2K called it My GM for WWE 2K22, while it is slightly limited because you can only use one main world title for the men's division ( WWE, Universal, NXT championships) and for the women's division it's only ( RAW Women's, Smackdown Women's & NXT Women's championships) and no mid card titles for either division like Tag or United States or Women's Tag or Intercontinental
However, with that said. My GM is still a fun and addictive feature as your not only running a brand and your roster but your working on a budget where you have to cover costs for arenas, TV crew, promotion deals, certain objectives from Triple H that are not mandatory to complete including managing your roster itself giving you certain requests or asked to be released ( Can't be fired). I've already played this mode four times
Now with showcase mode with Rey Mysterio it could have been a lot better than what it was because the matches it features were a bit limited. It could have featured more from ECW, WCW and WWE like Rey winning the World Heavyweight title at WM 22 was missing from this showcase. But this showcase and the matches it had were worth it in order to get all the unlockables. Best part is when doing a match in showcase at certain points the gameplay feature with transition to actual footage of the match your playing and then back at the gameplay
Overall, WWE 2K22 is an amazing game and a return to quality for WWE video games and WWE 2K in general. It's far superior to the overrated 2K19 and for a long time, I used to consider Smackdown Here Comes The Pain was the greatest wrestling game of all time but now that WWE 2K22 is out and played many hours out this and still do, it blows Here Comes The Pain right out of the water.

This is a great game in the franchise and I think it was worth the 20 euros that I gave to buy it. This is my first ever wwe game and it was a good experience overall. It's fun with friends and the game has a wide variety of superstars to play with and you can buy them without any extra money just by playing high rated matches so that's a good thing I guess. Playing the classic mode was excellent at first but then I realized that there's absolutely no variety on the combos or the special moves of the superstars. Certainly better than the previous installment (WWE 2k20) which was full of bugs. I've put 107 hours into this game and I think you don't have to buy any other wwe game if you have this one. The career mode was so repetitive that it isn't even worth trying though.
WWE didn't have try too hard to beat their previous video game outing, considering for the first time since I have been playing I can remember they had to skip an entire year without making one. Well, they didn't have to yet somehow after the disaster that was 2K20 they might have lost a lot of revenue. Lucky for them the new generation console was on its way giving a chance to redeem themselves. I remember playing WWE attitude first then moving on to the smackdown series which later became smackdown vs raw. Since then I would say there has been some improvements with regards to graphics and most noticeable improvements in gameplay. However I still find that THQ have the title for being the best wrestling video game makers and let me tell you why! Since playing more recent instalments I can't help avoiding major mechanical problems, problems I never came across in the early THQ games. There are still odd glitches here and there although the extra year taken has fixed many more. The main issue for me is the guessing game of which button your opponent will press, if you guess correctly you will counter their move. I don't like the step up to be honest, it makes thing turn more into luck than skill. THQ had it right back in the day with the R2 to counter a grapple and L2 to counter a Strike, now we see ourselves trying to guess three buttons. Often if it isn't broke don't fix it and whilst the game isn't terrible like 2k20 it still is a long way from previous 2000s wrestling games. So do I constantly rely on triangle or do I take a chance on square or circle? What's more is the pin fall, submission setup is also considerably weaker. Rather than battering a controller to kick out or playing people online who could have turbo boost controllers; surely they could have stuck with the kick out metre with the zone? Another suggest would be rotating the sticks in submissions?
Okay so that first part is much to do with what I don't find good about 2k22 yet juxtaposed with the positives this is still a worthy game. The variety of game modes make this barrels of fun for hours on end, The showcase, The Gm mode, the universe mode, My rises are all positives accompanied by an incredible roster. Most my favourite are already in the game or can be brought per win. There are various extension packs to buy others wrestlers which I don't agree on and never will, I'm always of the mindset of once you buy a game everything should be available to unlock for free. As I learn of AEW currently in the works of their own game by THQ I do feel WWE is finally starting to get competitive once more which can only keep them on their toes, that's good news.
Overall I still feel this isn't the best experience of playing a wrestling game I remember yet the nostalgia is nice. I would like to think they realise this whilst working on ways to improve it in the future. 2020 was a terrible year for WWE, I don't really watch it anymore as you lose interest when you get older however the games are usually a nice consolation to make up for it. Most of the ones I grew up watching are in the games so occasionally I will play one from time to time. If you like this type of game then you will prefer it to the previous, whilst if you played some of the old ones as long as me then you'll still be wishing a bit better.

WWE 2K 22 is such a step up from the previous game. Starting with the gameplay, the matches feel smooth and realistic and the flow is so much better. Entrances look fantastic and the character details finally look like they're real life counterparts. Since playing this video game franchise starting back in 2008 with smack down versus raw, i've been through all the ups and downs with these games but this is definitely a fantastic entry and I hope they continue to build off of this impressive comeback.
This game is super trash. This game feels like it's using dead and retired wrestlers to sell a game and it feels very weird. Roster is filled with no name wrestlers that look like high schoolers. I can only name like 10% of the roster.
The layout is hash.
All I care about is playing on universe mode where I can I have freedom to do whatever I want. You can't even edit match rules. In 2k14 you had so much freedom and it was simple. This game is just complicated hash. They couldn't even make a damn calander like 2k14. 2k14 was soooo simple. They were not trying to reinvent the wheel.
Universe mode is as confusing as hash.
Wrestlers move like stiff hash.
Reverse system is filthy. 2k14 reverse system was basic and great.
Tag teaming was a nightmare.
Mitb match took a whole hour to win. I was taking breaks whilist the match was going on that's how long it took.
When you try to pick up items like a ladder it doesn't register. Instead causing the cou to attack you.
In 2k14 it was so easy to push over a damn ladder.
In this game you can't. Well I couldnt. Really 2k? I can't push over a bloody ladder?
Make an entrance use to be so creative. Now it's so basic. Not cool.
Don't get me started on the annoying soundtrack. The music was horribly hash. I had to mute the music within only 10 minutes. Usually I can tolerate bad music not this time.
I quit this game after I couldn't control my partners anymore. My gosh an easy feature turned into a disaster. In 2k14 I didn't have this Problem.
I bought delux and did not get what was offered. In 2k14 I didn't have this problem.
Downloading caws was also a nightmare.
Who ever worked on this game should 38.
I wasted my money on this crap game thinking it would be fun. It was not. I'm probably gonna trade it in for Pokemon cards.
Last best wwe game was 2k14 and 2k didn't didn't even make that game.
I tried 2k15 back in 2015 for an hour and returned it the next day.
It took me 2 weeks to play 2k22 and I wish I could have at least waited longer because this game is hash.
Don't buy 2k games.
Even their nba games are recyclable.
Horrible experience. How hard is it to get a damn wrestling game right? Jesus Christ. This is why I hate people so much. They disappoint me.
