Mechanical and computer science students from India’s top colleges came together recently to build working prototypes blending embedded systems, software and smart IT solutions to solve real-life challenges. This platform for young talent to showcase their exceptional skills to transform their ideas into futuristic solutions resulted in winning solutions in real-time monocular depth estimation on Edge AI, a vision system to identify and display defects on components, and a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank with a mechanism to measure DEF quality and control DEF filling. At the core of the Caterpillar Foundation’s mission is supporting communities in times of need. In response to the devastating floods that took place on July 4, the Caterpillar Foundation is donating $250,000 to the United Way of San Antonio Bexar County and the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to support the immediate needs and long-term rebuilding efforts in Kerr County and the surrounding areas. “Our thoughts are with everyone impacted in the Central Texas community,” said Asha Varghese, President of the Caterpillar Foundation. “The devastation caused by this disaster is heartbreaking, and we recognize that recovery will take a collective effort.
