In 2019, Syauqie took on a new challenge as a Technical Planning Manager at our Batam facility in Indonesia. As a first-time leader stepping into a new industry, he knew the transition wouldn’t be easy. However, he accepted the challenge and discovered that consistent, personalized communication was the key to success. He shares four key strategies that helped him lead with confidence: Know your team — and yourself. Understand everyone’s strengths and areas for growth, including your own. 🌟 Prioritize with clarity. Focus on what the business needs most, then align your team through clear communication. 📊 Connect beyond the job. Caterpillar retiree Bernie Miller reached an incredible milestone on July 31 – he turned 100! 🎂 And he’s still celebrating, proudly marking a century alongside the company that’s been part of his life for so long. Bernie’s journey with Caterpillar began in 1951 when he moved to Peoria. Over the years, he made his mark, especially in the mid-70s when he helped design a revolutionary “filter buggy” that recycled hydraulic oil, cutting costs and improving maintenance efficiency. But Bernie’s story doesn’t stop there, as he is one of FIVE generations within the same family who have all worked for Caterpillar.
