The 2025 Climate Tech Conference, hosted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government in South Korea, brought together global leaders at the intersection of innovation, policy, and sustainability to confront one defining challenge: how to scale solutions fast enough to meet the pace of climate change. At this year’s event, Capture6 CEO Ethan Cohen-Cole was honored to deliver a keynote address exploring that very question, and how technology, economics, and existing infrastructure must work together to drive transformation. Even when politics slows or resources tighten, technology keeps moving- but the pace of environmental change is accelerating faster than any innovation cycle in history. To reach the 22nd century in one piece, we must match that speed and scale solutions faster than ever before. Ethan shared that history’s great transformations didn’t come from starting over, but from connecting new ideas to existing strengths. At Capture6, we’re advancing this integration model by embedding breakthrough carbon removal technology within one of humanity’s oldest and most essential infrastructures — the water sector. Project Monarch is bringing real impact to the Palmdale community. "Since Palmdale Water District is mandated to serve ratepayers and not earn profit, the 20-40% cost savings provided by Capture6’s process flows directly through to Palmdale Water District’s bottom line and supports their ability to lower ratepayers bills. "Our pilots in Western Australia and Southern California are the initial phases of large-scale projects aimed at driving significant returns by integrating our technology into essential water treatment and green-transition infrastructure." - Ethan Cohen-Cole Over NYCW, Capture6 CEO Ethan Cohen-Cole joined a conversation with Elemental Impact on catalytic capital around first-of-a-kind (FOAK) facilities. He shared the stories of Project Monarch and Project Wallaby—real examples of how capital deployed strategically can overcome common scaling roadblocks for FOAK projects. Projects at early stages often face a catch-22: they need capital to scale, but can’t actually scale until they’ve proven they can deploy at scale. Both of our projects are industrial demonstrations that are the first phases of larger, contracted projects. In the coming 6 months, we're deploying on two continents simultaneously, with technology designed from day 1 to build at scale. We're growing a portfolio of deployments worldwide, influencing the financial architecture of climate solutions by example. We're excited to get there with Elemental Impact by our side.
