VP of Design at Anduril Industries

So far, we’ve designed platforms like vehicles and components that warfighters operate. This is the first time we’re designing something they wear. The industrial design team at Anduril has two core goals: build a cohesive, iconic form language, and enhance the functionality and usability of every product we touch. From making helmets lighter and more intuitively modular, to crafting vision-augmenting glasses with the comfort of everyday sunglasses, and other body-worn augments where ergonomics is everything—this is the most personal and complex challenge we’ve taken on yet. Fit and finish matters. CMF matters. Every gram, curve, and interface counts. Form follows mission. I’m incredibly proud of the progress our industrial design and interaction design teams have made in the last six months. Nicolas Denhez, Young duk Song, Michio Papers, Herbert R., Daniel Christie driving the evolution of EagleEye’s form language and experience both on hardware and UI/UX, in lock step with our engineering teams and Palmer to shape a system that’s as iconic as it is functional. By partnering with Nick Garfias and the industrial design team at Oakley Standard Issue, and other partners leading in their category, we’re designing the next generation of wearable defense technology. Design Defense.

  • Superpowers for Superheroes. Today, we unveil EagleEye: the family of warfighter augments that place mission command & AI directly into the operator's helmet. For too long, soldiers have lacked the clarity needed to see through the fog of war. EagleEye changes that. Equipped with enhanced perception, lethal connectivity, and heightened survivability, EagleEye is the ultimate teammate that deepens our warfighters ability to see, sense and win. Anduril has partnered with Meta, Oakley Standard Issue, Qualcomm, and Gentex Corp. to bring the best in AR, rugged eyewear, compute, sensing and ballistic helmets to EagleEye. With world-class partners, we’re delivering proven tech for the warfighter at rapid speed. “We don’t want to give service members a new tool—we’re giving them a new teammate. The idea of an AI partner embedded in your display has been imagined for decades. EagleEye is the first time it’s real.” –  Palmer Luckey Full statement linked in the comments.
