🌍 You’re Invited to a Historic Celebration at ASA 2025! 🌍 I’m honored to be delivering the keynote at the African Studies Association’s Women’s Caucus Luncheon, marking both the 50th and 55th anniversaries of this powerful community of feminist scholars, thinkers, and visionaries. 🗓 Saturday, November 22, 2025 🕛 12:00 PM 📍 Marriott Marquis, Atlanta 🎟 Reserve your spot: https://lnkd.in/eEftpvWX Keynote Title: (Be)Coming: Reclaiming the Archive, Reimagining the Self Abstract: This keynote traces a journey of (Be)Coming—a deliberate and dynamic process of reclaiming history and reimagining identity. I reflect on my path as an African feminist historian, interrogating the silences and absences of colonial archives while centering embodied knowledges, oral histories, and gendered memory. Drawing from decades of research, mentorship, and lived experience, I explore how reclaiming the archive is simultaneously an act of resistance and self-actualization. This address is both a personal meditation and a political call—to write, to remember, and to (Be)Come anew. Let’s gather to honor the past, affirm the present, and imagine futures together. #ASA2025 #AfricanStudiesAssociation #WomensCaucus #FeministHistorians #AfricanHistory #OralArchives #EmbodiedKnowledge #NwandoAchebe #KeynoteSpeaker #Atlanta2025 #DecolonizeTheArchive
