This week, the MooseFS Distributed Storage team had an incredible experience at #SC25 SC Conference Series! Throughout the conference, we engaged in countless insightful conversations, meetings, and deep-dive discussions with researchers, HPC experts, system administrators, and industry partners. The level of interest in scalable, resilient storage solutions continues to grow, and it was exciting to exchange ideas, explore real-world challenges, and discuss how MooseFS fits into future architectures. As in previous year, we were thrilled to have our MooseFS cluster running at UTD, supporting our demos and giving attendees a chance to see real performance and functionality in action. A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, shared feedback, or simply stopped by to chat. Your enthusiasm fuels our work! We’ve recently released a new stable version of MooseFS - 4.57.7. This update brings a faster, more efficient Web GUI, now served by a lightweight C-based binary instead of the legacy Python script. Configuration has been simplified, performance noticeably improved, and the new architecture sets the stage for future extensibility. Another key highlight is native Prometheus metrics support, making it easier than ever to integrate MooseFS into your observability stack. Alongside that, this release includes packaging cleanup, codebase refactors, and a few long-standing bug fixes.
