Celebrating 10 Years of the LA Ride! What began in Lansing and Grand Rapids back in 2016 has grown into a statewide movement blending health, education, and community connection. Over the past decade, the LA Ride has championed “education in motion,” raised awareness of landscape architecture’s role in shaping our environments, and united passionate riders, volunteers, and sponsors across Michigan. And this year was no exception! On September 12th, the 2025 LA Ride Cycle Tour in Grand Rapids took participants on a 15.5-mile ride with stops at Downtown Grand Rapids, John Ball Zoo, and Millennium Park, showcasing real-world examples of design excellence and community impact. Topics covered along the ride: · ADA + universal accessibility along the Grand River · Downtown revitalization & mobility innovation · Ecological restoration at Millennium Park · Zoo stormwater design & watershed stewardship Watch the recap video to relive the ride, hear from project leaders, and celebrate 10 incredible years of connecting people through design, movement, and community. Here’s to the next decade! #LARide #ASLAMichigan #LandscapeArchitecture #EducationInMotion

Public voting is officially open, and we need your support to win the RHISE Cup Creative Challenge! Our team created Entry #1, “Stitched Together: A Depiction of Community”, a patchwork-inspired design that celebrates the beauty, diversity, and deep-rooted connections within Rochester Hills. Just like a quilt, our community is a tapestry of people, businesses, and stories, stitched together to create something strong, welcoming, and uniquely ours. Our quilt pattern, made with hand-carved stamps, reflects Rochester Hills' agricultural past, vibrant present, and innovative future. You can check out our tree and the rest of the Innovation Forest along the Clinton River Trail, starting at the Leach Road Trailhead (south side of Adams Rd, west of Leach Rd). Please VOTE for ENTRY #1 and share this post. Thank you for your support! Voting Details: • Voting is open through October 17! • One vote per email • Anyone can vote — employees, friends, family, residents, and visitors! • Vote now at: https://lnkd.in/gVyPVXfD #RHISECup City of Rochester Hills

We’re honored to have sponsored and joined over 200 runners and walkers at this year’s Scare Away Hunger 5K in Rochester, the biggest turnout yet for this incredible cause! Our team showed up in full spirit to support Neighborhood House, a nonprofit working tirelessly to fight food insecurity right here in Oakland County. The event was a perfect blend of community spirit and meaningful impact, raising vital funds and donations to help stock the shelves of the Neighborhood House Food Pantry. We're grateful to Neighborhood House for the work they are doing and for organizing such a thoughtful and impactful day. #ScareAwayHunger #RHiseCup City of Rochester Hills

Protecting Water Quality Through Smarter Infrastructure. For Water Quality Month, we’re spotlighting our annual water main replacement program with the City of Novi, designed to address aging infrastructure and protect public health. Spalding DeDecker created a customized scoring system based on asset age, break history, and location to identify high-risk areas and prioritize replacements. This proactive approach improves system reliability, safeguards public health, and reduces long-term costs. This project integrates roadway rehabilitation, ADA accessibility, and phased construction to minimize disruption to the residents, while prioritizing improved water quality. #WaterQualityMonth
