🚨 Security Advisory – PowerDNS Recursor Today we have released PowerDNS Recursor versions 5.1.9, 5.2.7, and 5.3.3, addressing two important security issues that could lead to denial-of-service scenarios. 1️⃣ PowerDNS Security Advisory 2025-07 • CVE-2025-59029 • Affected: Recursor 5.3.0 and 5.3.1 • Issue: Specific cache contents and a query with qtype ANY can trigger a DoS. • Solution: Upgrade to a patched version or prevent requests with qtype ANY. 2️⃣ PowerDNS Security Advisory 2025-08 • CVE-2025-59030 • Affected: Recursor up to and including 5.3.2, 5.2.6 and 5.1.8 • Issue: A notify arriving over TCP could allow clearing caches resulting in a DoS. • Solution: Upgrade to the new releases or block incoming TCP notifies. We strongly encourage all customers and users to upgrade as soon as possible to ensure the security and stability of their DNS infrastructure. #PowerDNS #SecurityAdvisory
