Last week at the United Nations Headquarters, the General Assembly’s Third Committee hosted for the first time a dedicated event with youth, creating space for dialogue between Member States, youth organizations and civil society on the issues that directly affect young people — from social development and inclusion to human rights and dignity. Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs Felipe Paullier joined the event and underscored a key message: “When institutions adapt to young people’s realities — not the other way around — participation flourishes. The renewal of multilateralism will happen where young people are.” The UN Youth Office extends its appreciation to the Chair of the Third Committee for his leadership in convening this important dialogue. Dedicated spaces such as this are pivotal to advancing the work of the United Nations. Meaningful youth participation, intergenerational solidarity and trust in young people’s leadership are essential to building a more just, sustainable and peaceful world for all. #YouthLead #UNGA #Youth2030 #Multilateralism #UNYouth
