LinkedIn is committed to account safety and security, and provides features to help ensure your account is always secure. As an additional layer of security, LinkedIn may show you a sign-in security prompt through your LinkedIn app when attempting to reset your password. You will receive a push notification prompt on your signed-in mobile device after clicking on Forgot password? and verifying your email.
To approve the password reset:
- Go to your device’s notifications and click on the prompt from LinkedIn.
- Tap Yes, it’s me if you initiated the password reset from another device. Tap No, it’s not me if you did not initiate the password reset from another device.
- Return to your original device to complete password reset.
If you receive a sign-in security prompt without initiating the request:
- Go to your device’s notifications and click on the prompt from LinkedIn.
- Tap “No, it’s not me” on the prompt. The sign-in attempt will be denied immediately. You will also be prompted to change your password (recommended) to protect your account.
