This week, OpenAI released research that estimates a A$142 billion opportunity by 2030 if #AI adoption is done right in Australia. I suspect that by 2030 that number may look relatively modest. We're still very early in a field that is set to impact almost every aspect of life. It strikes me that when the stakes are this high, it's crazy to suggest we shouldn't insist on sovereign AI solutions, that are made, trained and run onshore. We need to make sure Australian's benefit from this new technology, that Australian's realise the economic benefit of AI, and that our values don't come second to profits and data sent offshore.
