Come and play board games Join us for tabletop board and card games. Thursday nights are aimed at those with some experience of modern boardgames, and we tend to play more complicated games - anyone who is completely new, or mainly interested in olaying lighter games, should try to come on Mondays. We always try to make sure that someone is happy to teach the games and welcome new people on the night, so don't worry if you're not sure what to play or who to sit with. Please arrive by 18:45 in time for everyone to get into groups and chat for the main games to start at 19:00. There is no fee for attending the Meetup, but you will need to pay the Ludoquist's games session fee of £8 per person (unless you have a Gold or VIP Ludoquist membership). We play a wide range of modern board and card games and typically start the evening with some light party games before getting into other favourites. All are welcome, please come and say hello. Introducing Social Meeples! A local board game club based in Thames Ditton. Been running since mid 2023, however new to meetup as would love to welcome more new faces to our club. We run every two weeks on a Thursday evening - Ye Olde Swan from 7pm. The evening starts at 7pm usually flows as follows: Start of the night as people arrive, general socialising & start off with a quick group game. Once this concludes, we break into multiple groups depending on game type, interest and complexity & the night rolls on from there, generally finishing by 10pm. Each week members are encouraged to bring along games they wish to play & we choose games from the selection available on the night. We find this is a great way to play new games. We are beginner friendly; with a run down on the rules of each game before we start.

Hi everyone! (pre-pandemic information) If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us on Monday evenings from 6pm until the pub closes around 11pm. Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as regular members will bring some along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already. You work late? No worries - you can join us any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 6pm (attendees tend to arrive around 6:30 or 7pm), don't worry :-) Everyone comes and goes when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave, Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long. We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars. Events are free to attend, but it is respectable to the public venues we hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do. If you would like to contribute towards the costs of running of this group, feel free to buy the host(s) a drink of their choice when you see them, for which they'd be very grateful. This saves money that can be put towards the Meetup subscription fees and buying the games that we all play. **Welcome to UK Mafia!**📍We meet at **The Hydrant** @ Monument on the Second Floor (see photo above). **Do I need to know anything beforehand?** This is a **beginner** event, and many will be playing with us for the first time. If you are a beginner, **please arrive early if you can** to hear explanations of the rules, and so you get to play many games. We will also explain strategies. Play the game that 'Traitors' is based upon! Mafia is a 10-player social game; it can get competitive, but it's easy to learn. We play at multiple tables. You get a secret role and work with your team to win. A game lasts about 45 minutes, so we play many during the day. The **Mafia team** tries to hide and eliminate the **Citizens**, while the **Citizens** try to find the Mafia through deduction and logic. While this is a beginner-friendly event, we also host tournaments and online events with players from around the world. Draughts is a super-fun concept bar located in the iconic Leake Street Graffiti tunnel just steps away from Waterloo Station. This unique games-themed event is hosted in a private area of the venue – The Loft, with a contemporary vibe, beautifully exposed brickwork, and our own private bar. This is a doubles speed dating event, so be prepared to get to know other single people in an entertaining and interactive way as you move between tables playing new and nostalgic games in groups of four. Designed for social singles booking individually or with friends, you will be welcomed by our host at 19:15 and have the chance to grab a drink from the bar before we begin. Ladies will be paired and seated comfortably on tables with various board games. These are selected to be short in duration (approximately 12-minutes) and great for helping you break the ice as you get to know your fellow players. Gents will be invited to rotate around the tables in pairs, playing a variety of entertaining games, having no shortage of laughs along the way. There will be a half-time comfort break and lots of opportunity to mingle with others in this informal yet lively setting. Post-event matching will be available on your It’s a Date dashboard where you could find you’re on a winning streak in love as well as in Jenga! This event will take place in the Ballroom, so more space for everyone. Looking to play some longer games, or just fill a lazy Sunday? Well why not join us at The Bedford for an extended gaming session. You are of course welcome to stay as long you like, you can leave when you've scratched your gaming itch at any time. As these sessions are normally for longer games, a lot of people arrange games before hand in the chat, if you see one you would like to play, just reply and ask if there is space, easy. You'll welcome to bring your own games (it would be great if you could teach as well), or just join in with one of the others someone brings. There will be plenty of choice no doubt. Good fun, great company and delightful location are (almost) guaranteed, with excellent food and drink on hand. If it's your first time just ask for Rocky, or someone in the hi-vis jacket. Some of our old hands will be wearing badges, so you could ask them. We'll endeavour to get you into a game that suits you and your gaming level.
