Women’s Sport in Karate: Empowering Equality

Equality is at the heart of karate. At the World Karate Federation (WKF), we uphold fairness and respect as fundamental values of the sport. Karate symbolizes balance and inclusivity, welcoming practitioners of all genders.

The Women's Commission, established by the WKF, is dedicated to advancing karate as an equitable sport. It protects the rights and interests of women, ensuring fairness in competition and promoting gender equality within the sport.

Among its key responsibilities, the Women's Commission serves as a platform for suggestions and initiatives while advocating for actions that enhance karate’s development and reputation as a sustainable, progressive sport. It also works to prevent any form of gender-based harassment or abuse.
