Matt Hancock is a British politician who served as the Conservative MP for West Suffolk from 2010-24. As the health secretary in Boris Johnson’s government from 2018-21 he played a prominent role in managing the UK’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hancock resigned from his position after being caught breaching social distancing rules by kissing and embracing Gina Coladangelo in his office, with whom he was having an affair. The following year he had his party whip suspended after announcing that he would take part in the reality show I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, in which he came third. He did not seek re-election as an MP in 2024.
