Greta Thunberg, born in 2003, is a Swedish environmental activist known for her climate marches. Aged 15, Thunberg began to skip school to protest for stronger action on climate change by the Swedish government. After her ‘School Strike for Climate’ other students got involved with similar protests and following her address to the 2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference, the movement spread. In 2019, Thunder sailed to New York on a carbon-free yacht to speak at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit where her scolding of leaders with the words ‘how dare you’ made international headlines. Her honours include being named in Time’s 100 most influential people list, being named the youngest Time Person of the Year in 2019 and nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize.
