KPMG is a global network of firms providing audit, tax, and advisory services. Formed in 1987 through the merger of Klynveld Main Goerdeler and Peat Marwick International, the company’s roots trace back to the early 19th century. It is one of the Big Four, a group of accounting firms that also includes Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Ernst & Young (EY), which collectively dominate the international accounting and consulting market. The Big Four handle the bulk of audits for large public companies, alongside offering advisory services in areas like compliance, risk management, and strategy. KPMG operates in more than 140 countries, serving businesses, governments, and non-profits worldwide.
