Tom Tugendhat, born on June 27, 1973, has been the MP for Tonbridge (previously Tonbridge & Malling) since May 2015. A member of the Conservative Party, he served as the security minister from 2022-24 and unsuccessfully ran for party leadership in 2022 and 2024. Before entering politics he worked as a journalist in Beirut and served as a Territorial Army officer in Iraq and Afghanistan.
