Astronomy club + Romantic comedy = Sora no Manimani

Animation is average. Background is bright, colourful, but lacks details. Movements are strange, sometimes it's used fo comic relief. Character design looks plain in the good and bad way: the animation is simple, but faces and body parts are not distorted. CG is nice. To sum up, this is nor eye candy nor eyesore.

The voice actors in this anime did a good job. I can't imagine Mihoshi, Hime or that weirdo from photography club to speak in different voices. Opening "Super Noisy Nova" by Sphere and ending Hoshikuzu no Surround" by CooRie were forgettable. OP childish and fast, ED slow and sleepy. However, background music gives necessary mood.

Story isn't something great. First of all, the romantic part is childish and corrupted by the "childhood friend" syndrome. Akeno Mihoshi and Ooyagi Saku are the couple, but they don't know that and hang together like the childhood friends. There are two girls, who have romantic feelings for the main character, but everything is decided. All attempts to brake the main couple ends in vain. Why? Maybe, because Mihoshi and Saku are still kindergartners, when the love is mentioned. Secondly, astronomy club has many clichés. The student council hate it (Genshiken) and close, if they don't find a new member (K-ON). Trere are many clubs in other schools, which do better (Hikaru no go, Saki) and so on. Finally, the stargazing is the best aspect of Sora no manimani. Anime fails everywhere, except here. in 12 episodes you will see hardships and rewards of stargazing in different seasons and usually in the comic light.

Characters are lovable. I like slow and tall Saku, who likes to read books. Hyperactive Mihoshi is obsessed about the stars. Makita Hime is your typical princess-tsundere. She loves Saku and knows it, still the love triangle doesn't work, because The fate brings Saku and Mihoshi. Roma Takeyasu is the club president and the parody of Saku (tall, but too skiny, smart, but bleeds from nose and has weak health). Edogawa Masashi is small brat from photography club. He likes girls (especcially Hime) more than stars.

Value? Long way to go towards a masterpiece. Rewatch value is zero. Sora no manimani is so typical in many ways, that i want to cry. No recomendations, unless you like sars.

Enjoyment: this anime is mainly for true stargazing lovers. I rate it so high, because i like stars. To everyone else: don't expect to much. To otaku: stay away!
