This version of Subway Surfers is so great! The characters themselves cost way less than in the original game (each character is now 9,000 coins). The special characters are now unlockable through a Collectables Box which makes it way more easier to get characters you’ve never had before, albeit randomly. Additionally, keys are much more easier to get in this version, not that it matters since their only main use seems to be for the Collectables Box and for skipping missions. Overall it’s an amazing new way to play the game, and it brings that feeling of playing it back when it first released. However, you can’t transfer your data from the free version into this version, not that it matters either since it’s very easy to get back any characters you had previously. Highly recommend this version to anyone wanting to play this without ads.

I was thrilled to see this game was coming to arcade. I played SS for 10 years before quitting due to the increased price of everything (no reasons outfits should be 75 keys, pure greed). I LOVE this game, and every issue I had with the regular edition has been fixed. Only things I would fix are that top run is being really buggy - it hasn’t worked for days now, and I would remove the time control on gaining season rewards. The current season ends in two days and I can only access reward 22/29, and I’m worried I won’t be able to get all the rewards before it’s over. I may be mistaken, but I thought all rewards opened up about 5 days before a season ends? Not sure if it’s a bug or what. Since we can’t use keys or coins to skip past the waiting period, why not just remove it? Otherwise, I’m very pleased with this game.

This version definitely has its perks over the original mobile version!Pros:- You can choose to disable seasonal content- The revive system is now just a “tap at the right time” minigame, very fair- There are no ads or IAPs, and popups much fewer on the main menu and none in game- Characters (and skins), hoverboards, and cosmetics are mostly unlocked with coins/keys, an 18 key collector box, or the high score track, no more “fragments”Neutral:- Mystery boxes (random loot) does still exist, but it is more fair due to rebalances of coins being more useful.- Keys are somewhat difficult to obtain (in my opinion). Mystery Boxes give more than the original. It seems at least for now that keys are less useful than the base game.- There are less collectibles (for now)While there is nothing bad to say about it, the gameplay is pretty much the same. If you did not like the infinite runner gameplay from the original, there is no real difference.

Although I find that mobile games bored me, and would rather play pc, or something, this game changes that perspective for me. It has a lot of changes from the base version, in which it’s almost free to play (what I mean is you have to pay Apple Arcade) and there is no in-app purchases, and no ads that give perks. Although some might think that the revive system makes the game too easy, it’s better than having to spend a bunch of blue keys just to save your run
