Hi! I am Barun. I am a researcher and developer specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and Networked Systems. I hold a PhD and MS (by Research) from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where my research focused on Content Dissemination in Opportunistic Mobile Networks (OMNs).

My recent work bridges the gap between Large Language Models (LLMs) and systems. I am currently investigating AI agents, Natural Language Understanding, and Intent-based Systems. For example, I have investigated network management using natural language and fault analysis using AI agents. Checkout the research section for more details.

In the past, I have extensively worked with Opportunistic Mobile Networks, and co-authored a textbook on the subject. I had co-organized the first ACM MobiCom Workshop on Future Industrial Communication Networks at New Delhi, India, in 2018.

I also explore the intersection of human emotion and language through poetry.
