About Me
I’m general counsel and head of policy at Imbue, where our mission is to give every person the power to shape their digital lives. I study what technological power means for individual liberty and advocate for what we need to be free.
Technological power is novel, poorly understood, and mostly unchecked. It's hoarded by those who have it and barely recognized by those subject to it.
My work is a practical response to the rise of this new power. It has always been incumbent on us to respond to new or persistent threats to our liberty. Today is no different.
The focus of my work is currently in three areas:
- Articulating how the mechanisms of technological power differ from other forms of power and how societies can adapt to them
- Designing laws that address technological concentrations of power
- Advising policymakers on the role of technological power in free societies
