 Oh boy, 25.10 is starting out rough. First, I noticed errors with the updated APT. Second, you can not install Flatpaks at this time.
I think it's fair to say, this was released before it was ready.

That out of the way, Kubuntu is USUALLY my first choice. 24.04 LTS has been absolutely hassle free.Looking forward to 26.04 in 6 months

Kubuntu is the distribution between Debian and Fedora as far as the latest stuff goes. I also find it the easiest to use and add drivers thanks to their driver manager. Would love a rolling release version. =)

For those ready to upgrade to 25.10, I'd wait a couple weeks to see if things get ironed out.

 If you are trying to quit Windows and try Linux then Kubuntu is the flavour to get. Many recommended Ubuntu but it definitely falls short of what was available on Windows. On the other hand Kubuntu actually offers even more and without all the spyware and bloat that latest Windows versions are increasingly full of. Just love how the user interface and desktop of Kubunttu is very feature-full, elegant and very customizable and configurable. Also the KDE Connect is just amazing to pair your PC and your phone. Definitely 10/10.

 I installed kubuntu because the like of KDE. I was quite happy with it. just now I ve been faced with an issue I thought it was banned long ago from any OS: the system gave me a warning running short of memory. it was immediately impossible to react and I couldn't do nothing but kill the system. I have to admit that my laptop only has 8GB of memory which I can not upgrade. but since every linux distro is proud to announce on running at low resources, this is a big annoyance for me.
I do not like distro hopping but I guess I have to give cachy a go. like others I am looking for a veritable win11 replacement, so the jouney goes on...
