A standing wave tube-like setup designed for tomographic imaging of the sound-induced motion patterns in fish hearing structures
Creators
Description
We present a design for a miniature standing wave tube-like setup intended for use in synchrotron high-resolution imaging experiments. It meets X-ray imaging requirements and can be equipped with the necessary sensors to adjust and monitor a sound field within a small water body, thereby generating and recording specific acoustic conditions. Synchrotron radiation-based imaging techniques enable the visualisation and measurement of internal movements in various biological systems. With this setup, we can observe the motion of in-situ anatomical structures (e.g. hearing structures) in aquatic specimens exposed to sound.
