Update on Federal Government Shutdown: Student Aid, Federal Work Study and CalFresh Benefits

The Student Financial Services Office does not anticipate any disruptions to the release of Federal Direct Loans as a result of the federal government shutdown. Disbursements for the fall quarter are expected to be released on schedule.

In addition, Federal Work Study and CalFresh benefits are not expected to be impacted by the shutdown, and benefit payments should also continue as scheduled.

During this period, the FAFSA form and its processing will remain available, and the Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at 1-800-4-FED-AID will remain open.

For additional details, please review the Announcement regarding Federal Student Aid’s operations during the shutdown.
