Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above in a golden (=yellow) field is a half black, sinister facing lion armed and tongued red. Below in a blue field is a pair of silver (= white) arrows crossed saltirishly and pointing downwards.
Meaning:
According to source the arms are based on the seal of the Amt Baesweiler from 1556. The lion is symbolizing the dukes of J�lich, the former rulers. The origin of the arrows is not known.
