The Flag

Gold stylized 4 Katakana character of Ma  (マ) of Shimane (Shi means 4) in round shape on wine red colour field. Adopted 8 November 1968.

The prefecture flag was adopted on Nov 8th 1968 by Notice No 955. The circles symbolize the people�s solidarity and harmonized development and surge of the prefecture. The flag proportion is 2: 3.
