Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
As it is now, every reply to a post that appears in a given feed is shown, cluttering the page and requiring the user to focus on each reply to know what to skip if not of his/her interest.
Describe the solution you'd like
In the microblogging feed areas, e.g. https://mbin.instance/microblog\* or https://mbin.instance/m/example/microblog\*, to have the option to not have replies be shown unless it's from a followed user or if it's someone pinging you, instead showing most replies as Mbin does for thread-type posts already.
Describe alternatives you've considered
A feature I try mimicking from another fediverse software is hiding post, and so what I either tested or considered is adjacent to that:
First I considered what I already do to the thread-based site of Mbin, Ublock Origin filters, but then I noticed posts and comments are loaded in two parallel code blocks and so liking a post or filtering its specific link doesn't affect replies. (Remembering as I am near finished with writing everything, I haven't tested making a generic filter for the comments blocks so maybe I'll do next too.)
Then tried manually hiding each comment still through Ublock Origin but it makes the process extremely slow.
Then tried an userscript to automatically collapse comments but with how I tried, with dom watching, the script kept getting triggered on a loop.
Then tried making the script run once on a button click and though still causing some visual noise, at least now specific comments don't take focus away.
Additional context
Using mainly thebrainbin.org as my Mbin-powered forum, and running in version 1.8.4 in case it's useful.
