Just checked the cvar in d1_canals_01 either value of 1 or 0 still allows for killing npcs
This for a regular npc, yet i saw the code and barney would be in this category

Still i do think this is more of a bug because with physics props you can kill allies (even players)

also in end of coast you can hit with the vehicle the guy that is waiting for you in the faro and restart the map. then the medic citizen that is supposed to open the faro door for you also can be killed and players are unable to continue by normal means

i do suspect when a prop hits something TakeDamage's attacker is not always passed on by, or is that a timed pointer til "this attack is not anymore from X player"
