SearchFeature handle features in a source, this means you have to remake connection between the history and the source on page open. This can be done but depends on your data to have a persistent way of reconnected the data.
You can override the saveHistory and restoreHistory to achieve it...

  history.forEach(function(f) {
     histData.push(f.get('id'));
  });
  localStorage["ol@search-feature"] = JSON.stringify(histData));

// Restore features by Ids
search.restoreHistory = function() {
  var histData = JSON.parse(localStorage["ol@search-features");
  var history = [];
  // Get feature in the source from histData
  histData.forEach(function(id) {
     var f = this.getSource().getArray().some(
     history.push(findFeatureById(id, this.getSource()))
  }.bind(this))
  this.set('history', history);
}

function findFeatureById(id, source) {
  var f = null;
  source.getFeatures().forEach(function(fi) {
    if (fi.get(id) === id) {
      f = fi; 
  })
  return fi;
}

NB: make sure the source is loaded...
NB2: restore may take some time if the source contains a large dataset
