This needs some testing...
@iltis42 @Blaubart could you check with your devices please, wheter the ballast is still syncing correctly?

  • Vaulter
  • CAI302
  • LXNAV S80
  • LX1600
  • XCVario
  • OpenVario

Testing Procedure:
(On both vario and xcsoar)

  • Set Pilot Weight to 120

  • Set Empty Plane weight to 200

  • Set Reference Mass of polar to 300

  • Set any ballast value (maximum, medium, and something small)

    • check if ballast value is synched to variometer when set in xcsoar
    • check if ballast value is synched to xcsoar when set on vario
    • The difference should not be more than +/- 1 Liter

Yes, I am welcome to test on the OpenVario. Can you briefly describe what exactly you would like to have tested?

I have the OpenVario but none of the devices you mentioned are connected. Only the FreeVario.

I don't think we should change XCSoar's definition of overload factor. I rather think we should remove XCSoar's definition completely, because it's a useless metric. See #1319 (comment)
