Create an api to monitor and control defined services #5

@wizardwatch

Description

@wizardwatch

Sorry if you don't want issues filed yet, I was beginning to write a much worse utility similar to waifud and felt like my efforts would be better spent here.

I am a home-labber who provided free services to family and close friends (ie trusted individuals). When services went down it was up to me to do the usually mundane but still stressful task of a restart or update. This can become burdensome as you get busy and all of a sudden a server goes offline. This burden resulted in me no longer offering the services due to the stress involved. By creating an api (probably exposed over a vpn/tailscale) to run fixed functions, namely restart containers or vms, most of the 'your stuff is down' emails could be dealt with in one blow.

Once waifud becomes more fleshed out I should be able to implement this myself if you want to ignore/close this issue :).
Again sorry if you are not interested in 3d party input at the time.
