i had when veupath lost funding intended to move this to the mbio github org for future maintenance, rename it mbioUtils and remove anything that wasnt general purpose. but some decisions need made here now.. right now rserve is i think still using the veupath version of this repo, and the R package is using this one. ideally there should be only one veupathUtils, and it should be lightweight and general purpose. so probably it shouldnt have the megastudy/ vectorbase specific stuff in there. i might suggest:

1. copy any changes in this repo that were made since it was copied from veupath back to the veupath repo
2. delete this one, at least for now
3. move anything megastudy/ vb specific out of the veupath version, into a separate repo
4. if mbio ever decides to try to get their R on bioconductor or veupath fails, then reevaluate, and start by re-copying the repo.
