The purpose of this pinned is to make contributors aware of the current state of the master (aka main / develop) branch.

All changes in master branch will target the next major release (v29.0.0)

If your change needs to go out sooner, please label such PR with the process/cherry-pick/28.x label.

After the master PR is merged, you can open a backport PR that cherry-picks the commits into the 28.x branch. If the change should apply cleanly, you can just leave the label and the release operator will open the cherry-picks before the release.
